IRVINE, Calif., October 1, 2026: SafeLab AI Engineering, an AI consulting and engineering firm serving Southern California organizations, today announced that it has been named an OpenAI Select Partner within the OpenAI Partner Network.
The OpenAI Partner Network is a global program for partners to build, sell, and deliver AI solutions with OpenAI. It brings together partners with deep industry expertise, delivery capabilities, and customer relationships while equipping them with resources, enablement, and support to help enterprises adopt OpenAI frontier models and products and turn them into measurable impact.
As an OpenAI Select Partner, SafeLab AI Engineering will continue working with OpenAI to help organizations build, deploy, and scale AI solutions responsibly and effectively. This work will help organizations get more useful work from every token and stronger performance per dollar with GPT-5.6, while using ChatGPT Work to turn ambitious goals into finished work. SafeLab focuses on settings where trust and data protection carry the highest stakes: healthcare and healthcare-adjacent providers, California public agencies, and startups and investors that need production-grade engineering and technical due diligence.
"I started SafeLab because the organizations with the most to gain from AI, including SMBs, city departments, school districts and nonprofits, are often the last to get expert help using it well," said Dailin Hu, Founder and CEO of SafeLab AI Engineering. "Being named an OpenAI Select Partner lets us bring frontier models to those teams with the rigor I learned in research labs and production engineering. Our goal is to give people back hours for the work only they can do."
SafeLab AI Engineering supports organizations across Southern California with AI workflow audits, staff AI training, and custom AI & ML systems, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, and model fine-tuning.
Hu pairs research depth with production experience. She holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, and has published reinforcement learning research at ICML 2022 and NeurIPS 2021. As a Senior Applied Scientist at Blizzard Entertainment, she built ML systems and tools impacting millions of players worldwide. As a research intern at Motional, she contributed to nuPlan, the first closed-loop ML-based planning benchmark for autonomous driving.
Looking ahead, SafeLab plans to expand its OpenAI-based offerings for California public agencies and healthcare organizations, including staff training programs and governed ChatGPT Work rollouts, and to grow its bench of on-site AI adoption specialists, helping customers translate AI ambition into business outcomes.
